Rising Death Toll from U.S. Airstrikes on Sana’a

NYN | News

The death toll from the U.S. airstrikes that targeted various areas in the capital, Sana’a, on Saturday evening has risen to three martyrs and two wounded, following aggressive bombing that struck the Al-Nahda neighborhood in Al-Thawra District, also causing extensive damage to citizens’ homes and property.

Another citizen was martyred, and several others were wounded after U.S. forces targeted the main road in the Al-Masajid area of Bani Matar District, in a clear attack on residential neighborhoods and civilian roads.

The U.S. attacks were not limited to populated areas; they extended to a blatant violation of the sanctity of the dead, as American airstrikes targeted the Al-Nujaymat cemeteries in Al-Sab’een District and the Majel Al-Damma cemetery in Al-Safiyah District — a dangerous precedent that reveals a profound disregard for human and moral values.

In Al-Hodeidah Governorate, U.S. warplanes targeted the building of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs, leading to its complete destruction, as part of a systematic approach to destroy civilian and service facilities.

This escalation comes two days after the horrific crime committed by U.S. forces when they bombed the Ras Issa oil port, resulting in the martyrdom of 80 people, the injury of 150 others, and the complete destruction of the port — a blatant challenge to the international community and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

Observers believe that the ongoing U.S. escalation places the international community under an urgent moral and legal obligation to take a firm stance to end these crimes, hold the perpetrators accountable, and ensure the protection of civilians and vital infrastructure in Yemen.
