On Wednesday, Russia issued a stern warning to the United States against even considering direct military support for Israel in its operations against Iran, stating that such action would destabilize the Middle East.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov declared, “We warn the U.S. against providing direct military aid to Israel or even entertaining the idea,” signaling a potential Russian intervention in the conflict.
He emphasized that any possible direct American military support for Israel could fundamentally destabilize the situation in the Middle East, and noted that Moscow is in contact with Iran.
On Tuesday, Moscow had already condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on Iran, describing them as illegal. It stated that the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program can only be resolved through diplomacy.
In a statement published on Telegram, the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “Israel’s ongoing intensive attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites are illegal under international law, pose unacceptable threats to global security, and push the world toward a nuclear catastrophe.”
The ministry added that the widespread condemnation of Israel’s actions shows that it has found support only from those countries that are effectively complicit and driven by opportunistic motives.
This Russian warning comes as Israeli forces continue their aggression on Iranian territory, with American backing—further fueling fears of a broader confrontation that could spiral beyond traditional calculations and place both regional and global security at grave risk.
