The Ministries of Civil Service in Sana’a and Aden have agreed to grant public sector employees an official holiday marking the 63rd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, in a move that reflects coordination between the two authorities regarding the observance of national holidays.
The Ministry of Civil Service in Sana’a announced today that the holiday will be observed on Saturday, as a substitute for Friday, which already coincides with the weekly day off.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Service in Aden declared that the holiday will be observed on Sunday, September 28, for employees in areas under the internationally recognized Yemeni government, since Saturday is already a weekend day. Work is scheduled to resume on Monday.
Both ministries confirmed that the holiday is based on the provisions of Law No. (2) of 2000 concerning official holidays and leaves.
