Sanaa Announces New Military Operation Following “Tel Aviv” Attack

NYN | News

On Friday evening, Sanaa forces announced a new military operation targeting a ship in the Gulf of Aden.

In a statement during a rally supporting Gaza in Sanaa’s Al-Sabeen Square, Yahya Sare’e, the spokesperson for Sanaa forces, said, “The Yemeni Armed Forces’ Naval Forces, Air Force, and Missile Forces carried out a joint operation in the Gulf of Aden using several drones and ballistic missiles, targeting the ship ‘Lobivia.’ The strike was precise and direct.”

He explained that the ship was targeted for violating the company’s ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine.

The statement emphasized that the operation was “in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in response to the Israeli enemy’s massacres in Gaza.”

It continued, “The ongoing Israeli aggression and massacres against our brothers in Gaza will only drive the Yemeni people, their armed forces, and their faithful leadership to further support operations in defense of the oppressed Palestinian people. These operations will not cease until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted.”

Sanaa forces renewed their call for “all Arab and Islamic peoples to fulfill their religious, humanitarian, and ethical duties towards the Palestinian people and actively participate in this decisive and inevitable battle.”

This comes hours after Sanaa forces announced a military operation targeting a significant site in the occupied Yafa area, known to Israelis as “Tel Aviv,” with a new drone named “Yafa,” capable of bypassing interception systems and undetectable by radar.

Since late last year, Sanaa forces have been targeting Israeli sites in the occupied Palestinian territories and related ships in the Red and Arabian Seas. Recently, they announced the start of the fourth phase of their escalation against ships, extending “even to the Mediterranean,” to support Palestinians in Gaza. They assert that their operations against “Israel” will continue, conditioned on ending the aggression and lifting the siege on Gaza to halt their military support operations.

In response, the US and the UK launched airstrikes on Yemen, prompting Sanaa forces to declare that their operations would include targeting US and UK commercial and military ships in retaliation for what they termed “American-British aggression.”

On February 19, 2024, the European Union announced the launch of a military operation named “Aspides,” led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States launched “Operation Prosperity Guardian,” both aimed at countering the attacks by Sanaa forces against “Israel.”
