The Yemeni Armed Forces affiliated with the Sanaa government issued an official statement this afternoon, Thursday, revealing the tally of their military operations over two years of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle. The statement affirmed continued military and logistical support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and announced the death of prominent military commander Major General Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari and his son Hussein (13 years old) in one of the raids carried out by the U.S.–Israeli coalition on Yemen.
The statement said that the Yemeni Armed Forces, in all their land, sea, and air formations, carried out a total of 758 military operations during the past period, employing 1,835 varied combat means, including ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and warboats.
The naval forces also conducted 346 operations targeting Israeli ships and those violating the Yemeni embargo across an area of operations extending from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean, during which more than 228 vessels were targeted.
In the air domain, Yemeni defenses reportedly shot down 22 American MQ-9 reconnaissance aircraft, intercepted 40 hostile aerial operations, and launched more than 57 missiles at aerial formations including strategic bombers, which the statement said led to the foiling of several offensive operations and forced enemy forces to withdraw.
The statement affirmed that these achievements would not have been possible without “God’s help and guidance,” praising the sacrifices of the Yemeni mujahideen who fought “in support of Gaza and in defense of the nation’s holy sites,” despite siege, wounds, and suffering.
It noted that the repeated aggression against Yemen targeted civilian infrastructure and economic facilities, resulting in a large number of civilian and military martyrs, including the Yemeni prime minister and several ministers, within what the statement described as the “Battle of the Promised Victory and the Sacred Jihad.”
In closing, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the martyrdom of Major General Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari, one of the most prominent military commanders, and his son Hussein, while they were performing their “jihadist duty,” saying that “the blood of the martyrs makes strong men and lights the paths of jihad and sacrifice.”
The Yemeni Armed Forces renewed their pledge to continue military operations until the “liberation of Jerusalem and the demise of the Zionist entity,” asserting that “the caravan of the great will not stop except with the cessation of life.”
