On Friday, the Sana’a government forces announced two military operations targeting Israeli sites deep within occupied Palestine, and another significant operation targeting three American destroyers in the Red Sea while they were heading to support “Israel.”
In a televised statement, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the military spokesperson for Sana’a government forces, said, “The Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting an Israeli military site in the occupied Jaffa area (Tel Aviv) with a ballistic missile of the ‘Palestine 2’ type, and another vital target in the occupied Ashkelon area with a drone of the ‘Yaffa’ type.”
Saree confirmed that both strikes on “Tel Aviv” and “Ashkelon” successfully hit their targets. He emphasized that these operations were conducted in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance as part of the fifth phase of operations, aiming to defend the Palestinian people’s cause.
He further stressed, “The Yemeni Armed Forces will continue executing more military operations against the Israeli enemy, in honor of the blood of our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon.”
Saree also noted that the Yemeni military would maintain its support through military operations in the coming days until Israel halts its aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.
In another statement issued later on Friday, Saree announced that Sana’a forces had launched a major military operation targeting three American destroyers in the Red Sea, as they were en route to support the Israeli occupation.
During the statement, delivered in front of crowds during a massive solidarity rally for Gaza and Lebanon in Sabeen Square in Sana’a, Saree revealed that “the joint operation by the Yemeni naval forces, drone units, and missile forces was carried out with 23 ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, resulting in direct hits on the three destroyers.”
He added that “this naval operation is the largest by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the ‘Promised Victory’ battle and the sacred jihad, in response to American and British aggression against Yemen.”
Saree highlighted that this operation coincided with attacks on the Israeli-occupied areas of Jaffa and Ashkelon, where a hypersonic missile of the “Palestine 2” type and a “Yaffa” drone were used.
He concluded the statement by reaffirming that the Yemeni Armed Forces are prepared to carry out further strategic military operations in support of the Palestinian people and the Islamic resistance in Lebanon, which are courageously facing Israeli aggression, backed by the U.S., in defense of Lebanon and in solidarity with Gaza. He reiterated that these operations would only cease once the aggression ends and the siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.
In a related development, CNN reported that U.S. Department of Defense officials described the missile attacks by the Houthis on American naval vessels in the Red Sea as some of the largest assaults on U.S. warships in the Middle East to date.
