Sana’a Government Forces Declare the Start of “Phase Four of Escalation” against Israel in the Mediterranean Sea
Today, Monday, Sana’a government forces announced the commencement of “Phase Four of Escalation” against Israel.
This statement was made by the official spokesperson for Sana’a government forces, Yahya Saree, during a speech at a “cultural” seminar.
Saree stated, “In the coming days, the ships that breached the blockade imposed by the Yemeni armed forces towards the Mediterranean Sea will be announced.”
He added, “The Yemeni armed forces are fully prepared for Phase Five and Six, as announced by Mr. Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.”
He mentioned that “Yemen’s escalation is not just slogans, and the slogan launched by Mr. al-Houthi, ‘You are not alone,’ is not an empty slogan or a popularity stunt. We are fully prepared to sacrifice our lives, and if the path is opened for the Yemeni people, they will move in millions to support Gaza,” according to his statement.
Since late last year, Sana’a government forces have been targeting Israeli ships and those associated with them in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea before extending their operations to a portion of the Indian Ocean.
Sana’a forces state that their operations against Israel will continue until the latter ceases its genocide in Gaza and lifts the blockade.
In response, the United States and Britain have conducted airstrikes on Yemen, and Sana’a government forces have announced that their operations will include targeting American and British commercial and military vessels in response to what they call the “American-British aggression.”
On May 3rd, Sana’a government forces announced through their spokesperson, Yahya Saree, in a statement, the initiation of “Phase Four of Escalation” and that they would target Israeli ships or those associated with Israel in the Mediterranean Sea if the latter attempted to invade Rafah.
In addition, the European Union announced on February 19, 2024, the launch of a military operation named “Aspides,” led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States launched an operation named “Guardian of Prosperity,” aiming to counter the attacks launched by Sana’a government forces against Israel.
