Sanaa issued a strongly-worded message this evening to the United States and its allies.
The Minister of Defense in the Sanaa government, Mohammad Nasser al-Atifi, confirmed that Yemen will not hesitate to defend its national sovereignty against any escalation attempts by the Saudi-Emirati coalition and foreign powers, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel.
The minister explained that Sanaa will not allow the violation of Yemen’s sovereignty or the manipulation of its people’s resources, urging these powers to reconsider their policies and revise their hostile actions. He emphasized that peace will only be achieved by respecting Yemen’s rights and ending foreign interventions.
Al-Atifi pointed out the firm rejection of any foreign military presence on Yemeni soil, describing it as “an occupation aimed at exploiting the people’s resources,” affirming that the Yemeni islands are non-negotiable and that any violation of Yemen’s borders will face a strong response.
He added: The national decision is a red line, and we will not allow compromising our sovereignty or sharing it with those who seek to exploit crises to advance their divisive agendas.
Al-Atifi warned that any reckless military adventure will face a preemptive response, saying: Those planning aggression should remember the lessons of the past ten years, and that what lies ahead will be harsher if they continue their assault.
He reiterated that Sanaa’s forces are rapidly developing their defensive and deterrent capabilities to ensure the protection of national resources and efficiently confront threats.
The minister concluded his statement by reaffirming that Yemen, under Sanaa’s leadership, is not alone in its battle, and that the entire Yemeni people stand behind their leadership’s decisions in confronting divisive projects and foreign interventions, stressing that justice and peace will only be achieved by ensuring Yemen’s rights and ending exploitative policies.
