The Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority in Sana’a today, Sunday, called on citizens to promptly renew their expired ID cards, stressing that all cards issued over ten years ago are no longer valid and will not be accepted for any official transactions.
The authority explained, in a statement on its official Facebook page, that setting the card validity period at ten years is due to the natural changes in the holder’s appearance, in addition to the possibility of updating certain personal information, such as place of residence or occupation, during this period.
The authority emphasized that all public and private institutions must not accept expired cards, affirming that using them constitutes a legal violation and may disrupt official procedures.
