Sanborn Analytics confirmed that the attacks carried out by American and British fighter jets on Friday “on targets in Yemen were ineffective,” failing to reduce the capabilities and operations of Sanaa government forces.
The company stated that an analysis conducted through drone surveillance and intelligence gathering showed that “the recent airstrikes on Houthi military targets were ineffective.”
Sanborn advised ships operating near Yemeni waters, especially in the Red Sea, Hodeidah, and As-Salif areas, to exercise extreme caution, maintain heightened vigilance, and enhance security protocols to detect potential threats, reporting any suspicious activities.
The company also recommended that ships take alternative routes away from the Red Sea if possible.
On Friday, American and British aircraft launched four airstrikes targeting the maintenance camp in the Al-Nahda neighborhood in central Sanaa, coinciding with a large march in support of Gaza in Al-Sabeen Square and other marches in several cities and provinces.
In Hodeidah, according to Al-Masirah, the media outlet of the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement, “the American and British aggression” carried out four airstrikes on Hodeidah Airport and one strike on the fishermen’s dock at As-Salif port.
Since late last year, Sanaa government forces have been announcing strikes on Israeli targets in the occupied Palestinian territories and targeting Israeli and related ships in the Red and Arabian seas, before declaring the extension of their operations to parts of the Indian Ocean. Recently, they announced the beginning of the fourth phase of escalation against ships “even to the Mediterranean Sea” to support Palestinians in Gaza. They asserted that their operations against “Israel” would continue, demanding the “end of the aggression and the lifting of the siege on Gaza” to halt their military operations “supporting Gaza.”
In response, the US and the UK launched airstrikes on Yemen, prompting Sanaa government forces to declare that their operations would include targeting American and British commercial and military ships in response to what they called “American and British aggression.”
On February 19, 2024, the European Union announced the launch of a military operation named “Aspides,” led by Italy in the Red Sea. The United States announced the launch of an operation named “Guardian of Prosperity,” both aiming to counter the attacks launched by Sanaa government forces against “Israel.”
