The Red Sea has witnessed a new military escalation after Sanaa’s forces targeted a U.S. destroyer with a cruise missile and four drones, causing confusion among American forces and prompting some of their warships to retreat northward.
Sanaa’s forces successfully executed a new tactic that thwarted a planned U.S. aerial attack against Yemeni territory.
In a military statement, Sanaa’s forces announced that in the past hours, they had targeted the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman with two cruise missiles and two drones—the third such attack in 48 hours. They warned that continued U.S. strikes on Yemen would lead to further escalation in the Red Sea.
Sanaa placed full responsibility on the United States for militarizing the Red Sea and expanding the conflict, stating that such actions threaten regional security and negatively impact international shipping.
They affirmed that they will not cease targeting U.S. warships in the Red and Arabian Seas until the aggression against Yemen ends. They also stated that they are prepared to respond to any American or Israeli escalation in the coming hours and days.
Furthermore, Sanaa reiterated its commitment to blocking Israeli-linked ships from passing through the Red Sea until the siege on Gaza is lifted, assuring the world that the Red Sea remains open to all ships unconnected to Israel.
In a related development, Sanaa’s forces praised the mass demonstrations held in Al-Sabeen Square and other provinces, emphasizing that these protests serve as a full mandate to support Gaza and strongly resist U.S. aggression.
