Sanaa’s forces successfully disrupted a series of U.S. airstrikes targeting the capital moments ago, using a new defensive tactic that threw the American military operation into disarray.
According to military sources, Sanaa’s forces launched a counterattack targeting U.S. warships in the Red Sea during the air raids on Sanaa. This forced American fighter jets to return to protect the aircraft carrier instead of continuing their aerial bombardment.
The sources reported that Yemen’s defensive strategy posed a direct threat to U.S. naval assets, prompting them to reposition and adopt a defensive stance. This in turn disrupted the planned course of the U.S. operation.
Tensions between Washington and Sanaa remain high due to Sanaa’s support for Gaza and its blockade of Israeli-linked ships—an action that the U.S. opposes under the pretext of protecting its allies.
