The Sultanate of Oman today, Sunday, condemned the Israeli aggression on Yemen, emphasizing that it constitutes a new escalation of tension in the region, which will further complicate the regional situation and hinder de-escalation efforts.

In a statement from the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “The Ministry expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation of the Israeli military attacks on the sisterly Republic of Yemen, which represents a new escalation of tension in the region that will further complicate the regional situation and hinder efforts to de-escalate and end conflicts and achieve the desired peace, especially concerning the Arab-Israeli conflict and achieving justice for the Palestinian people.”

The statement added: “The Ministry urges the international community to assume its responsibilities to preserve regional and international security and peace, and to take decisive action to protect civilians and ensure the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed in its statement the “importance of addressing the root causes of the conflict and focusing on dialogue and negotiation as a means to achieve sustainable solutions, based on international law that must apply to all parties without discrimination or double standards.”

Yesterday, Saturday, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, called on all Muslims to support and assist Yemen against the Israeli aggression. Sheikh Al-Khalili commented on the Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah, saying in a statement: “We were surprised by the brutal Zionist aggression on the brotherly Yemen because of its stance in supporting the truth in the occupied land.”

The statement from the Grand Mufti of Oman added that “all Muslims must support and assist their Yemeni brothers; as it is an aggression against all.”

The “Al-Masirah” channel, affiliated with the Houthi Ansar Allah movement, reported that “the Israeli airstrikes on the city of Hodeidah targeted oil storage facilities in the port, Hodeidah governorate’s power station, and fuel oil tanks for electricity,” while the Ministry of Health in the Sana’a government confirmed that the “Israeli enemy’s airstrikes on oil storage facilities in the port of Hodeidah resulted in ‘martyrs and injured civilians,’ noting that a number of citizens suffered ‘severe burns.’”

The United States quickly announced that it did not participate in the airstrikes that were carried out on the city of Hodeidah. According to the Qatari “Al-Jazeera” channel, the “New York Times” newspaper quoted American officials saying that the United States did not participate militarily in the Israeli strike on Yemen.

The Sana’a government forces issued a statement vowing to strike Israel’s vital targets in response to the airstrikes that targeted civilian facilities in Hodeidah, reaffirming the continued consideration of “the Jaffa area as unsafe.”

A statement from the spokesman for the Sana’a forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said: “The Israeli enemy launched a brutal aggression on Hodeidah governorate, targeting the power station that supplies the coastal city of Hodeidah with electricity and the port of Hodeidah and fuel tanks, all of which are civilian targets.”

He added: “The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that they will respond to this blatant aggression and, with God’s help, will not hesitate to strike the Israeli enemy’s vital targets, reiterating what was stated in their previous statement about considering the occupied area of Jaffa as unsafe.”

He continued: “The Yemeni Armed Forces, under the guidance of their faithful leadership and with all the steadfast, proud, and free Yemeni people, will not cease their supportive operations for our brothers in Gaza, regardless of the repercussions and results. By God’s will, they are preparing for a prolonged war with this enemy until the aggression stops, the blockade is lifted, and all crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are halted,” according to the statement.

The statement concluded: “The Israeli aggression on Yemen imposes a serious mobilization on all the nation’s people to support the Palestinian cause, reject Israeli aggression, and stand up for the blood of the oppressed in Gaza.”

He concluded by saying: “The great Yemeni people, with their leadership and armed forces, will overcome this challenge with God’s help, as they have overcome challenges in the past years with God’s help.”
