Tawakkol Karman Threatened with Losing the Nobel Prize to Her New Yemeni Competitor

NYN | News

A Yemeni woman displayed exceptional courage during airstrikes carried out by American planes on a residential area in Sana’a.
A widely circulated video captured moments of the Yemeni woman inside a clothing store with her son, near the target site, without showing any signs of fear or panic.

The ground trembles beneath her feet, debris falls, and clothes fly around her, yet she stands with remarkable steadiness, gently placing her hand on her child’s shoulder to calm him, in a scene that encapsulates resilience in the face of danger.
The stance of the store owner and several shoppers was also striking, as they continued with their activities during and after the bombing, as if accustomed to defying death in their daily lives.

The video sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many viewing this woman as a symbol of Yemeni dignity and determination to stand firm against aggression and foreign interventions, implicitly sending messages to U.S. President Donald Trump that the Yemeni people are neither intimidated nor broken.
Observers believe that this Yemeni woman deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, as she embodied a true model of resilience and dignity in the face of the American killing machine, remaining unshaken by the horrors of war and destruction.
On the other hand, some argue that Tawakkol Karman, who has long advocated for wars and violence, is far removed from the values of peace that the Nobel Prize should represent. Her stance in those harrowing moments highlights the stark contrast between those who promote war and those who strive for peace in a time filled with conflict.
