The Houthi (Ansar Allah) military operations supporting Gaza continue to be a nightmare for U.S. forces.
The American military-focused website The War Zone revealed that the ongoing attacks carried out by the Houthis forced U.S. fighter jets to repeatedly land on aircraft carriers for rearming, amid ongoing threats from drones and missiles in the sky, placing U.S. forces under unexpected operational pressure.
The site confirmed that the crew of a U.S. Air Force F-15E had to use firearms after exhausting their air-to-air missiles while facing targets coming from Yemen, without being able to shoot any of them down, in a scenario that exposed the fragility of American deterrence.
According to observers, the Houthi tactics have reshaped the equation and the balance of power in naval battles.
On the other hand, Yemeni military analysts have linked the increasing successes of the Houthis in draining U.S. forces with their reliance on locally-made weapons developed during years of confrontation with the Saudi-Emirati coalition. This has provided Houthi experts with extensive experience in long-term attrition warfare.
Although Washington has tried to conceal its failures, U.S. media occasionally publishes reports revealing the success of Houthi operations and the failure of the U.S. Navy in countering them.
