Ansar Allah, on Saturday, expressed readiness to host leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” and other Palestinian factions.
Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political office of the Houthi group, wrote on the “X” platform: “Sanaa is honored to host the political office of Hamas, whatever the consequences, even if the sky falls to the ground.” This was in response to Qatar reconsidering its role as a mediator in the Gaza war, including the possible closure of Hamas’s political office in Doha.

The offer from the Houthis came a day after the forces of the Sanaa government announced an expansion of their operations in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, against ships affiliated with Israel or heading to its ports, to include the Mediterranean Sea, threatening to impose sanctions on all ships of companies linked to Israel, if the latter carries out a military operation in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
The escalatory step by the forces of the Sanaa government comes after the leader of the Houthi group “Ansar Allah”, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, announced the targeting of 6 ships affiliated with Israel, the United States, and Britain this week, confirming that the total number of targeted ships since the group started its attacks in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Indian Ocean in November last year has reached 107 ships.
In April 20th, the Houthi group “Ansar Allah” expressed readiness to receive Hamas leaders simultaneously with American pressure on Doha to end hosting the movement’s leaders.
In mid-March, the forces of the Sanaa government said they had expanded their attacks in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Aden against ships affiliated with Israel or heading to its ports, and against American and British ships, to include the Indian Ocean.
“Israel” continues its war on the Gaza Strip in parallel with a comprehensive blockade imposed on the Strip since last October, resulting in more than 30,000 civilian casualties and an unprecedented famine suffered by the people of the Strip.
Since November last year, the forces of the Sanaa government have begun military operations against “Israel”, and Israeli or affiliated ships have been prevented from crossing the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, stipulating that they stop their operations, “the aggression on Gaza and lifting the siege,” according to military statements broadcast by the spokesman for the forces of the Sanaa government, Yahya Sari, following their implementation of any military operation.
The European Union announced on February 19, 2024, the launch of a military operation called “Aspides”, led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States announced the launch of an operation called “Guardian of Prosperity”, aimed at countering attacks by the forces of the Sanaa government against “Israel”, in addition to airstrikes carried out by America and Britain in Yemen, which prompted the forces of the Sanaa government to include American and British ships, whether commercial or military, in the targeting circle and prevent them from crossing the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
