The American magazine “The National Interest” criticized the US administration for its alleged involvement in the Middle East.

In an article published by the magazine, it stated that “the US Navy spending billions of dollars on defensive missiles in the Red Sea confirms the depth of the US Navy’s involvement in the Middle East, not to mention the increasing financial cost.”

The magazine also argued that a war of attrition in the Red Sea would be extremely costly for American taxpayers.

In a separate context, the American magazine “Foreign Policy” previously stated that the military attacks carried out by Washington in Yemen are “illegal,” pointing out that the White House continues to carry them out despite acknowledging that they violate US law.

The recent report published by the renowned American magazine stated that the “US war against the Houthis is illegal and unnecessary” and that it “will not end the crisis in the Red Sea.” It warned about the danger of the continued US attacks in Yemen.

The report stated, “Despite widespread belief in Washington that US military operations in Yemen violate US law, American officials continue to insist on the necessity of continuing their military campaign.”

According to the magazine, the solution to end the crisis in the Red Sea lies in stopping the war in Gaza. It referred to an American conviction on this matter by citing what the US envoy to Yemen, Linda King, said: “The first step towards achieving a ‘fair settlement’ in Yemen is a ceasefire in Gaza. I believe we can diplomatically use that to calm the situation in the Red Sea.”

The United States announced late last year the launch of a military operation in the Red Sea, involving several European countries, as well as Canada and Bahrain, against the Houthi group “Ansar Allah” after the latter announced the implementation of military operations against “Israel” and the prevention of Israeli ships from crossing the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea. They stipulate that this will cease only when “the aggression on Gaza is stopped and the blockade is lifted,” as stated in the military statements broadcasted by the spokesperson for the Sana’a government forces, Yahya Saree, following the execution of any military operation.
