Official Admission of Failure of Current Systems
The Israeli occupation entity has acknowledged the inability of its current defense systems to deal with escalating missile threats, particularly those coming from Yemen. This comes amid growing concern within military circles over ballistic and “hypersonic” missiles that have previously succeeded in penetrating the multiple layers of air defense.
“Arrow 4” to Enter Service Soon
Israeli media outlets, including The Times of Israel, quoted the CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries, Boaz Levy, as saying that the operational deployment of the new “Arrow 4” missile defense system is imminent. The move reflects the failure of previous systems to effectively counter missiles during the latest rounds of confrontation with Iran and Yemen.
Yemen Develops Its Capabilities… and Israel Rushes Upgrades
Israeli military sources indicated that the Yemeni threat has grown more complex, with qualitative advances in Sanaa’s missile capabilities, benefiting from lessons learned in previous battles. This has pushed Israel to accelerate the introduction of the new system in an attempt to restore the “deterrence” that has eroded in recent months.
Replacing “Arrow 2”… Anticipating a New Phase
According to assessments, “Arrow 4” is expected to replace the older “Arrow 2” version in intercepting missiles within the atmosphere, as part of a broader restructuring of Israel’s defense architecture to confront more advanced arsenals. Recent confrontations have exposed the limited effectiveness of air defenses against missiles launched from Yemen.
