Western acknowledgments are growing regarding the failure of military force and economic sanctions in the face of Sanaa’s resilience. The U.S.-based Soufan Center, which specializes in security analysis, confirmed that efforts to deter Sanaa have been ineffective, and that the continued attacks have left both Washington and Tel Aviv unsettled.
The center’s report noted that Sanaa’s escalating operations have led to the closure of Israel’s Eilat port—describing this development as “strategic and painful,” with significant repercussions on Israel’s maritime navigation and trade.
The report linked the continuation of these attacks to Sanaa’s refusal to halt operations as long as the Israeli aggression on Gaza persists—despite the existence of a temporary truce agreement announced in May between the United States and the authorities in Sanaa.
The center argued that the military losses and high costs Washington has incurred pressured it into signing the agreement. However, the on-the-ground outcomes have delivered both a moral and strategic boost to Sanaa, while leaving Israel increasingly exposed in the Red Sea.
