The Secrets of the Accusations: The Transitional Council Traps Alimi!

NYN | News

The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has held the Yemeni government in Aden “fully responsible” for the deteriorating service and living conditions. This comes as part of an escalation in the exchange of accusations between the STC and the Presidential Council formed by the coalition.

The STC called on the internationally recognized government to fulfill its obligations and responsibilities towards the citizens, pointing to the worsening crises of electricity, water, fuel, and the collapse of basic services in the city of Aden, which is witnessing increasing popular protests.

However, the STC, which is part of the government and heads key ministries, neglected to mention its own role, prompting observers to interpret these statements as an attempt to “cleanse its record” in the face of the growing discontent of the southern street, which is now calling for the overthrow of all components of the government, according to repeated statements from protest leaders.

The ongoing crisis in Aden reveals a catastrophic failure on the part of all local factions, as they are directly beholden to the contradictory agendas of the coalition countries, which have turned state institutions into a proxy battleground between Emirati influence, seeking to strengthen the STC’s dominance, and Saudi influence, trying to protect its share through loyal forces. While promises of “partnership” and “state-building” are rising, the ruling elites have made it a priority to appease their foreign allies at the expense of saving Yemeni cities from collapse, leading to complete paralysis in decision-making and the absence of any fundamental solutions to the daily crises of the citizens.
