The Seventh Front: The Nightmare Awakened to Settle Deferred Scores

NYN |News

Israeli experts continue to highlight the growing threat posed by Sana’a, considering it a dangerous front that threatens the national security of the occupation and shakes the foundations of Israeli deterrence in the region.

Eyal Zisser, Vice President of Tel Aviv University and one of the leading Middle East experts, issued an unprecedented warning regarding the escalating Yemeni threat to Israel. He described what has become known as “The Seventh Front” as a direct strategic danger to the Israeli entity and a threat to undermine its claims of victory in the Gaza conflict.

In his article published yesterday in Israel Hayom, Zisser revealed that operations launched from Sana’a have moved beyond the stage of mere tactical nuisance and have become strategic strikes that deeply impact Israel’s security and economy—especially given the near-total paralysis of the Port of Eilat and the severe disruption to commercial navigation in the Red Sea.

The Israeli expert warned against continuing to underestimate the threat posed by the Houthis (Ansar Allah), stressing that the group is no longer a primitive force from a backward country. Instead, it now possesses an advanced combat system, including drones and precision missiles, and it conducts its operations with notable skill despite repeated airstrikes.

Zisser described Israel’s military response as “ineffective,” saying it serves more as a media tactic than a deterrent strategy. This, he argued, encourages Sana’a to expand its strikes to include more sensitive targets, such as civilian aviation and critical infrastructure.

Zisser’s statements come amid the ongoing escalation by Yemen in support of Gaza, opening a new pressure front on Israel’s southern flank.
