U.S. Deadline for Israel: One Week to End the War with Iran
Diplomatic moves led by Washington and Moscow aim to halt the fighting after military options stalled and pressure on the region intensified

NYN | Reports and Analyses
The Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom has revealed that the United States has given Israel a deadline of no more than one week to end the ongoing war with Iran, a move that reflects a U.S. shift toward a political track after attempts to achieve a decisive military outcome stalled.
U.S. Shift Toward Diplomacy
The newspaper quoted Israeli officials as saying that U.S. President Donald Trump set a seven-day timeframe to conclude military operations, while Washington simultaneously began indirect diplomatic contacts with Tehran to explore ways to halt the fighting.
These developments point to a growing U.S. effort to politically contain the conflict after military tensions in the region escalated in recent days.
U.S.–Russian Meeting to Discuss Ending the War
In the same context, the U.S. state of Florida hosted a meeting that included the U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoffand the U.S. president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, alongside a Russian delegation headed by envoy Kirill Dmitriev.
According to American media reports, the meeting focused on discussing mechanisms to end the war and contain the escalation. It is considered the first meeting of its kind since the confrontation between Iran, the United States, and Israel erupted at the beginning of last week.
Russian Proposals to Contain Escalation
Earlier, the Kremlin announced that Russia had presented proposals to stop the war without disclosing their details. This came alongside remarks by President Donald Trump stating that what he described as the U.S. “target bank” inside Iran had been exhausted.
Observers believe these statements may signal preparations to reduce the level of military escalation and move toward a political settlement to end the confrontation.
A Decisive Week in the Conflict
Analysts say Washington appears to be counting on a Russian role in containing the crisis, particularly given the war’s repercussions for regional stability and the disruption of global oil markets.
With the confrontation continuing and international pressure mounting, the coming seven days may prove decisive in determining the course of the conflict—whether the region moves toward a political settlement or further military escalation.
