U.S. Report: Washington and “Israel” Resort to Hybrid Warfare Against Iran to Avoid a Broad Regional Explosion
A multi-pronged strategy combining sanctions, limited strikes, artificial intelligence, and disinformation campaigns instead of direct military confrontation

A report published by the U.S. website Common Dreams revealed that the United States and the occupying entity are adopting a strategy of “hybrid warfare” in confronting their regional adversaries—chief among them Iran—in an effort to avoid sliding into a direct conventional war that could trigger comprehensive regional escalation.
An Alternative to Direct War
The report explained that this strategy represents a calculated alternative to open military confrontation, given the risks such a confrontation entails, including the expansion of conflict to encompass the entire region—especially amid the deep entanglement of military, political, and security interests in the Middle East.
A Blend of Hard and Soft Power Tools
According to the report, hybrid warfare relies on the use of an integrated package of tools, including crippling economic sanctions, limited military strikes, cyberattacks, as well as the stoking of internal unrest and organized media disinformation campaigns.
It noted that these operations are managed under the direct supervision of U.S. and Zionist intelligence agencies, in cooperation with private military-technology companies operating within what is known as the digital military–industrial complex.
Artificial Intelligence and “Assassination Algorithms”
The report pointed to a dangerous development in this context: the reliance by companies linked to the military–industrial complex on advanced artificial intelligence systems used to develop what it described as “assassination algorithms,” which are employed to carry out highly precise targeted killings.
The report’s author warned that this approach not only contributes to destabilizing targeted states, but also opens the door to the spread of chaos and the transformation of limited conflicts into broader regional confrontations.
Trump’s Rhetoric: Deliberate Deception
In its conclusion, the report argued that the contradiction and fluctuation in U.S. President Donald Trump’s rhetoric toward Iran do not reflect impulsiveness or a lack of vision, but rather constitute a deliberate tactic of political deception.
The report cited Washington’s support for the occupying entity’s bombardment of targets inside Iran on June 13, 2025—just two days before negotiations scheduled for June 15—as evidence, according to the author, that declared signs of de-escalation are merely a cover for a continuing aggressive policy.
