Under U.S. Orders: UAE Mobilizes 80,000 Troops to Occupy Hodeidah

NYN | News

Amid escalating political and military tensions, reports have revealed Emirati moves to reignite military fronts within Yemen—foremost among them, the western coastal front.

According to the UAE-based newspaper The National, experts have stated that the internationally recognized Yemeni government is preparing to mobilize around 80,000 soldiers in an attempt to retake control of the port city of Hodeidah from the Houthis (Ansar Allah).

This move is seen as a clear indication of the coalition’s—led by the UAE—intention to escalate militarily following a period of relative calm due to the truce.

These developments come as multiple fronts remain on high alert, with growing fears of a renewed wave of conflict that would further worsen Yemen’s already dire humanitarian and political crisis.

Evidence suggests that this military build-up is explicitly aimed at protecting the Israeli entity from drone and naval strikes launched by forces in Sanaa, and at breaking the naval blockade imposed by them.

These maneuvers are reportedly being carried out under direct supervision from the U.S. administration, which has simultaneously intensified its own aerial attacks on provinces controlled by the Sanaa-based government—signaling clear coordination between regional and international actors supporting the war on Yemen.
