United Nations Acknowledges: Our Mission Nearly Hit by Israeli Airstrikes on Hodeidah Port

NYN | News

The United Nations revealed a startling development regarding the airstrikes launched by Israel on Monday targeting Hodeidah Port, confirming that the attack occurred while the UN Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) was patrolling the northern sections of the port.

UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, stated during a press briefing on Tuesday that the Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the renewed airstrikes on Hodeidah, especially given the presence of UN personnel at the targeted site.

Dujarric added that such attacks endanger international missions and threaten the safety of civilians and ongoing humanitarian efforts in the area. He stressed the importance of respecting international law and refraining from targeting civilian infrastructure.

He went on to say that the Secretary-General also expressed concern over the continued missile and drone attacks carried out by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) against Israel.
