Unprecedented: First Saudi Prince Calls on Washington to Strike Israel’s Dimona Reactor

NYN | News

A fiery article by Prince Turki Al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence, has sparked an international uproar after he accused the West of blatant double standards in handling the Iranian and Israeli nuclear files. He called for the same standards to be applied to Israel’s Dimona reactor as to Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Prince Turki launched scathing criticism at what he described as the West’s “double standards,” accusing Washington and its allies of turning a blind eye to Israel’s nuclear program while continuously escalating against Iran.

In his article, published Saturday in the English-language Emirati newspaper The National, Turki stated pointedly:
“In a world governed by fairness, we would have seen U.S. B-2 bombs raining down on Dimona just as they did on Iran’s nuclear facilities.”

Illegal Attack… and Blatant Western Hypocrisy

The Saudi prince condemned former U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval of a B-2 bomber strike on three Iranian nuclear sites, calling it “an illegal unilateral act” and likening its potential consequences to what occurred in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Turki urged a return to diplomacy and the adoption of unified standards, warning that continued Western policies would lead to “unintended consequences” and further regional instability.

Dimona Reactor: The Silent Specter

He also highlighted what he called the West’s “systematic disregard” for Israel’s Dimona nuclear reactor, noting that Israel possesses a nuclear arsenal, has never signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and does not permit international inspections.

He argued that the same justifications used by the West for striking Iran—such as Tehran’s hostile rhetoric toward Israel—are conveniently ignored when it comes to Israel’s own history of threats. He pointed to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s public call to destroy the Iranian government as early as 1996 as evidence of what he called “blatant Western hypocrisy.”

Warning of Global Order Collapse

In a broader context, Turki warned that the continued application of double standards in international policy—especially concerning nuclear weapons—undermines the legitimacy of international law and alienates Arab nations from the global justice system.

He also referenced the West’s stance on Russia’s war in Ukraine, arguing that the condemnation of Moscow’s invasion contrasts starkly with the diplomatic and security immunity granted to Israel despite its long record of military escalation.

A Call to Correct Course

Prince Turki concluded by urging the West to adopt transparent and unified standards toward all nuclear powers, warning that the continuation of selective policies will deepen global crises and undermine prospects for lasting peace.
