The Israeli newspaper Maariv revealed that Sana’a’s forces continue to challenge Israeli defense and surveillance systems by adopting new tactics and flight paths for drones, aiming to bypass advanced aerial detection systems.
In a report published on Sunday evening, the newspaper explained that the Houthi (Ansar Allah) forces from Yemen are still putting pressure on the Israeli air defense system, noting that an Israeli combat helicopter managed to intercept a drone coming from Yemen over the weekend. However, what was remarkable about this operation was the use of an unfamiliar new flight path.
According to the report, the Yemeni drones were usually launched toward the African continent, flying through Sinai and the Mediterranean Sea before heading north toward the occupied territories.
However, this time, the drone was launched through the Arabian Gulf, passing over Saudi Arabia and Jordan before attempting to infiltrate the occupied Palestinian territories from the direction of the Dead Sea, a low-lying area that makes aerial detection and surveillance more difficult.
The newspaper cited sources within the Israeli Air Force who stated that this path had been used by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) only once before, indicating that the forces of Sana’a are striving to develop strategies that surpass the capabilities of radar and defense systems.
Sana’a announced this evening that a new operation was carried out targeting Tel Aviv with a “Yafa” drone, confirming the success of the mission.
