A high-level delegation from the Houthi group (Ansar Allah) departed from Sana’a International Airport on Friday, heading to Beirut to participate in the funeral of the former Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, and his successor, Hashem Safieddin, who were assassinated by Israel in late 2024.
Media sources reported that the delegation is headed by the Grand Mufti of the Sana’a government areas, Shamsuddin Sharaf al-Din, who is carrying a message from the Yemeni people, blending feelings of sorrow, confirming their support for the resistance. However, the details of the other members of the delegation or the tasks assigned to them were not disclosed.
This move comes amid the intensive preparations by Hezbollah for the farewell of Nasrallah and his successor, Hashem Safieddin, during a grand funeral ceremony held on Sunday in southern Beirut.
Thousands of supporters of the “Axis of Resistance” from various countries have flocked to the Lebanese capital to participate in the funeral, sending a direct message to Israel, affirming the refusal to be intimidated by it, and renewing commitment to the Palestinian cause as a central issue for all free people worldwide.
