The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth considered that any potential military escalation with Iran cannot be separated from Yemen, stressing that the country has become a key element in the calculations of any forthcoming regional confrontation.

The newspaper said that Ansar Allah in Yemen have continued, since the ceasefire in Gaza, to carry out intensive military maneuvers, alongside broad recruitment campaigns and ongoing field training, in parallel with an escalation in rhetoric and public threats.

Early Preparation for the Coming Conflict

According to the report, the newspaper views these moves as early preparation for a conflict that the leadership of Ansar Allah considers inevitable with the occupation entity, noting that the upcoming confrontation is presented in the group’s discourse as merely a matter of time.

Israeli Questions About Yemen’s Role

Yedioth Ahronoth explained that among the most prominent questions raised in Israeli circles following the recent rise in tensions with Iran is: What role will Yemen play if the region slides into a comprehensive confrontation?—reflecting growing concern over the widening scope of the conflict.

Military Courses Under the Name “Al-Aqsa Flood”

The newspaper noted that Ansar Allah are organizing large-scale military courses that include different age groups and involve firearms training, the study of combat tactics, and methods of engagement. It added that these courses are being held under the name “Al-Aqsa Flood.”

It added that the declared goal of these training programs is to prepare for a potential military confrontation with Israel, within what the newspaper describes as preparations for an upcoming regional war.

Yedioth Ahronoth concluded its report by emphasizing that Yemen is no longer a marginal arena in the conflict, but has become an actor that cannot be ignored in any escalation scenario linked to Iran.
