Yemen in Flames… Continuous Airstrikes and Rising Casualties!

NYN | News

U.S. warplanes continue to carry out intense airstrikes on several Yemeni provinces, escalating the conflict in a manner that threatens to expand the war in the region.

Field sources reported that since Saturday evening, the provinces of Sana’a, Sa’ada, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, Marib, and Hajjah have been subjected to a series of heavy airstrikes directly targeting civilian and residential areas. The attacks have caused widespread destruction in neighborhoods and vital public service facilities.

According to preliminary reports, more than 39 people have been killed or injured in Sana’a and Sa’ada alone, most of them women and children. The casualty count remains incomplete as airstrikes continue and rescue efforts persist to retrieve victims from the rubble.

Sources confirmed that the U.S. airstrikes have caused severe damage to residential buildings and public infrastructure, forcing several families to flee the targeted areas.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military officially announced the continuation of its operations within areas controlled by the Sana’a government, justifying its attacks under the pretext of targeting specific locations—despite the fact that most of the victims so far have been civilians.

For its part, the human rights organization “Insan” condemned these airstrikes, describing them as a full-fledged war crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the targeting of civilians and residential areas.

The organization called on the international community to take immediate action to stop these attacks and protect Yemeni civilians from the U.S. war machine, which does not distinguish between military and civilian targets.

Explosions continue to be heard across several targeted Yemeni provinces, amid growing fears of further escalation that could increase the number of casualties in the coming hours.
