Yemen | Unpredictable Weather and Rainfall to Hit Highlands and Coasts… What Awaits Residents?

NYN | News

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning on Monday advised farmers in mountainous areas to take necessary measures to protect their crops, and warned citizens—particularly the elderly, children, and those working during morning and evening hours—of the risks posed by cold and very cold weather conditions.

The Center forecast light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours in the governorates of Ibb, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, and parts of the Tihama Plain, as well as the eastern and southern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago.

It also urged caution regarding possible thunderstorms during rainfall and warned of reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to dense low-lying clouds.

Cold to very cold weather is expected to persist in the highlands and several governorates, especially during nighttime and early morning hours in Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, and western Al-Jawf and Marib, with the possibility of frost formation in limited areas.

As for the highlands of Hadramout, Shabwa, Al-Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Ibb, Taiz, Raymah, and Al-Mahwit, cold weather conditions are expected to prevail.
