A Yemeni ballistic missile was launched towards occupied “Tel Aviv” on Monday evening, causing panic and fear among Israelis. Sirens blared in dozens of cities and settlements in the greater Tel Aviv area.
The missile triggered widespread alarms across central “Israel,” including in the city of “Tel Aviv,” prompting settlers to rush for shelters, according to Israeli media reports.
The Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported that “the missile launch from Yemen forced more than 100 media personnel to lie on the ground after the sirens sounded during an event in Yarkon Park, leading to the cancellation of ceremonies marking the October 7 anniversary at the park.”
Following the attack, Yedioth Ahronoth reported that all landings and take-offs at Tel Aviv’s “Ben Gurion” Airport were suspended after the sirens were triggered by the missile’s arrival.
Israeli media also reported a fire in the “Beit Shemesh” area caused by debris from an air defense missile attempting to intercept the Yemeni missile.
Social media users shared scenes from shelters during the siren alerts, with one clip showing a reporter from Israel’s Channel 13 taking cover on the ground during a live broadcast amid the tension following the Yemeni missile launch towards “Tel Aviv.”
Additional footage showed settlers fleeing inside a shopping center in central “Israel,” as well as moments of panic in Yarkon Park in “Tel Aviv” just before a family event, and images of the fire in Beit Shemesh resulting from air defense missile fragments.
Later on Monday evening, the Sanaa government forces announced two military operations targeting Israeli occupation forces in “Tel Aviv” and “Eilat,” using several missiles and drones as part of the fifth phase of escalation, coinciding with the first anniversary of the launch of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle.
In a televised statement, Sanaa military spokesperson Yahya Saree said, “In continuation of our support for the just causes of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, on the first anniversary of the October 7th launch of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, the Yemeni armed forces carried out two military operations as part of the fifth phase of escalation.”
Saree explained that “the first operation targeted two military objectives of the Israeli enemy in the occupied Jaffa area using two missiles—one of type Palestine 2, which successfully hit its target, and the other Zulfiqar missile. The operation achieved its goals successfully.”
He added, “Earlier today, the Yemeni armed forces’ drone unit launched several drones at various targets in the Jaffa area and the southern region of occupied Palestine, including Umm al-Rashrash. Several drones, of the Yafa and Samad 4 types, successfully reached their targets, by the grace of God.”
Saree continued, “On this occasion, the Yemeni armed forces salute the heroic fighters of the Palestinian resistance in all its factions in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the brave fighters of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon.”
He concluded, “The Yemeni armed forces reaffirm their commitment to continuing military operations against the Israeli enemy and maintaining the naval blockade until the aggression ceases, the siege on Gaza is lifted, and the attacks on Lebanon are stopped.”
