Watch: Houthi’s Call Ignites Global Street Protests!

NYN | News

Several cities around the world witnessed massive protests on Sunday, rejecting the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and condemning the massacres committed against civilians—particularly children and women—amid growing calls to end the war and urgently allow humanitarian aid.
U.S. media outlets reported that around 1,500 demonstrations took place across all fifty U.S. states, with major protests in Washington, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Protesters carried slogans opposing the policies of former U.S. President Donald Trump and businessman Elon Musk, criticizing their economic stances and support for the wars in Gaza and Yemen.

Meanwhile, angry protests erupted in several other countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, South Korea, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Sweden. Participants denounced the genocide and Israeli blockade on Gaza, demanding an end to the war and the opening of humanitarian corridors to aid the besieged population.

These widespread public movements followed a call by the leader of the Houthi movement (Ansar Allah) in Yemen, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, who urged people to take to the streets and denounce the crimes being committed in Gaza, and to amplify the voice of public rejection to the international systems.
It is worth noting that former U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration had declared war on the Houthis in mid-March, following their missile strikes on Israel and the imposition of a naval blockade on ships bound for Israel in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea—operations they said would cease only if the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted.
