NYN | Reports and Analyses

Ahmed Hussein, a member of the General Secretariat of the Arab National Congress and a leader in the Unified Nasserist Current in Egypt, affirmed that the resilience of the Yemeni people has successfully broken the aggression coalition, transforming the course of the conflict from attempts at subjugation into what he described as a “victory contagion,” paving the way for restoring national sovereignty and building an independent unified state.

Yemen Asserts Itself in International Equations

In an interview with Arab Journal, Hussein stated that resistant Yemen has become a significant factor in international political and military equations, having successfully confronted major powers in defense of the Palestinian cause and the protection of Arab national security. He noted that Yemeni operations in the Red Sea represented a “historic epic” that forced major powers to accept a ceasefire equation.

Targeting Israeli Presence in Somalia: A Strategic Move

The Nasserist leader explained that the decision by Ansar Allah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi to target Israeli presence in Somalia has received broad Arab support, considering it a strategic step aimed at protecting Arab national security, particularly Egyptian national security, from the risks of Israeli expansion in the Horn of Africa.

Yemeni–Egyptian Coordination Against Partition Plans

Hussein highlighted that the alignment between Yemen and Egypt in countering Israeli ambitions in the Horn of Africa reflects Arab unity and a shared understanding of the dangers posed by attempts to fragment Somalia and control strategic waterways in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb.

Defeating the “Somaliland” Project and Encirclement Plans

He affirmed that plans to isolate Egypt and Yemen through recognition of the so-called “Somaliland” will not succeed, given Arab awareness of the true nature of the Zionist project and its geopolitical dimensions in the Horn of Africa.

The Cost of Arab National Stance and Support for Gaza

Hussein noted that Yemen is paying the price today for its steadfast Arab nationalist positions, being targeted by fragmentation schemes due to its pivotal role in supporting Gaza and defending Arab sovereignty on the Red Sea’s doorstep.

Post-October 7: The Collapse of Normalization Illusions

He concluded by emphasizing that the repercussions of October 7, along with subsequent support fronts in Yemen and Lebanon, have shattered the illusions of the so-called “Abraham Accords” and revived broad Arab popular rejection of all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity.
