The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Sanaa-based government strongly condemned the ongoing U.S. aggression against Yemen, citing horrific crimes committed against civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The ministry reported that the U.S. aggression has resulted in the deaths of 107 civilians and the injury of 223 others—most of them women and children—since mid-March.
It stated that the American assault represents a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and of all international norms, treaties, and laws, describing it as a continuation of the aggression led by Saudi Arabia against Yemen for over a decade.
The ministry warned that continued aggression and escalation against Yemen will be met with greater and more painful escalation, stressing that Washington’s reckless policies in the region are unacceptable.
It also asserted that the world must recognize that Yemen has used the Red Sea as a pressure card against the Zionist entity to force an end to its siege and crimes in Gaza—especially in light of the Arab and international Security Council’s failure to take decisive action.
The Foreign Ministry noted that Yemen continues to use this leverage after the Arab and Islamic abandonment of the Palestinian people, affirming that Yemen has a legitimate right under international law to defend itself and respond to any threat.
In conclusion, the ministry held the U.S. government responsible for destabilizing the region by escalating tensions in the Red Sea and threatening international navigation.
Sanaa’s Foreign Ministry emphasized that true security and stability in the region can only be achieved by ending the aggression and blockade on Gaza.
