U.S. Army Launches Missile Warfare Center at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar
Washington Establishes a Multinational Air and Missile Defense Cell in the Gulf Amid Rising Tensions With the Axis of Resistance and Iran

NYN | Reports and Analyses
The U.S. Department of Defense has announced that U.S. Army Central Command has opened a new coordination center dedicated to air and missile defense at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, as part of military cooperation with regional partners whose identities have not yet been disclosed.
A Multinational Center Under U.S. Leadership
According to the official website of the U.S. Department of Defense, the new center is a multinational platform led by Washington and includes a number of regional partners, without specifying the participating countries. It was described as a step aimed at enhancing joint military coordination in the region.
Strengthening Missile Defense Capabilities
U.S. Central Command Commander General Brad Cooper stated that the establishment of the center is intended to improve air and missile defense capabilities and to develop new mechanisms for what he described as “collective defense” in cooperation with U.S. partners in the region.
Military Signals at a Time of Heightened Tension
Observers believe that the opening of this center at one of the largest U.S. military bases in the Gulf reflects a move toward expanding military partnerships with multiple Gulf states, in an effort widely seen as primarily directed against the Axis of Resistance in the region.
Regional Escalation and Direct Interventions
This military development comes amid escalating regional tensions and coincides with direct U.S. threats against Iran, along with reports of U.S.–Israeli intelligence involvement in the trajectory of escalation inside Iranian territory. This gives the American move dimensions that go beyond its declared defensive purpose.
