New Earthquake Strikes Yemeni Province

NYN | News

Yemen is witnessing a noticeable increase in seismic activity—a phenomenon that is raising questions among both geological experts and the public, amid growing concerns over potential short-term impacts.

On Wednesday morning, the Center for Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring recorded a minor earthquake in Bilad At-Ta’am District, located in the northern part of Raymah Governorate in western Yemen.

According to the center’s statement, the tremor occurred at 6:13 a.m. and did not result in any material damage or casualties.

This quake is part of a series of seismic events that have affected multiple Yemeni provinces in recent months, following an unprecedented pattern in both frequency and geographic spread. Experts have since urged the need to strengthen monitoring systems and preparedness for any sudden geological developments.
