The leader of the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement in Yemen, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, addressed a message to China, Russia, and Asian and European countries, hoping that they “understand the measure regarding the transfer to the rest of the Palestinian ports for the benefit of Israel.”
In a televised speech on Thursday, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi said: “I hope that China, Russia, and the various Asian and European countries will understand the measure regarding the transfer to the rest of the occupied Palestinian ports for the benefit of the Israeli enemy.”
He added: “Everyone must stop the transfer to the occupied Palestinian ports and our country’s measure is out of humanitarian, moral and religious motivation, and it is in the interest of all companies to stop the transfer for the benefit of the Israeli enemy towards the Mediterranean Sea or in any direction.”
He also stressed: “We are keen to convey our voice to all countries and that everyone understands and realizes that our measure is humanitarian and moral, and everyone should move to put pressure on the Israeli enemy to stop the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.”
Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi explained that any “escalatory steps towards Rafah, this means escalating the support fronts in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.” He noted that “the inauguration began this week towards the Mediterranean Sea with two operations.”
The forces of the Sanaa government have been targeting Israeli and related ships in the Red and Arab Seas since the end of last year, before announcing the extension of their operations to part of the Indian Ocean.
The Sanaa forces say that their operations against “Israel” will continue until the latter stops the genocide war in Gaza and lifts the siege.
In response, the United States and Britain launched airstrikes on Yemen, with the Sanaa government forces declaring that their operations will include targeting American and British commercial and military ships in response to what it called the “American-British aggression.”
On May 3rd, the Sanaa government forces, through their spokesman Yahya Saree, announced the entry of what they called the “fourth stage of escalation”, and that they will target Israeli or Israel-related ships in the Mediterranean Sea if the latter invades Rafah.
The European Union announced on February 19, 2024 the launch of a military operation called “Aspides” led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States announced the launch of an operation called “Guardian of Prosperity”, both aimed at confronting the attacks carried out by the Sanaa government forces against “Israel”.
