The Sana’a government forces announced late Saturday night that they had carried out a second attack within 24 hours on the American aircraft carrier “Eisenhower” in the Red Sea.
Yahya Sari, the spokesperson for the Sana’a government forces, stated in a statement that, “The naval forces, missile force, and drone air force of the Yemeni armed forces carried out six military operations. The first targeted the American aircraft carrier ‘Eisenhower’ in the northern Red Sea with several missiles and drones,” noting that this was “the second targeting of the carrier within 24 hours.”
He added that the second operation “targeted an American destroyer in the Red Sea and hit it directly with several drones.”
The statement mentioned that “the other four operations targeted ships belonging to companies that violated the decision to ban entry to the ports of occupied Palestine, including the ship (MAINA), which was targeted by two operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea. The third operation targeted the ship (ALORAIQ) in the Indian Ocean, and the fourth targeted the ship (ABLIANI) in the Red Sea.”
He pointed out that all operations “achieved their goals successfully and the hits were precise and direct,” according to the statement, which said that the operations were carried out “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and in response to the crimes of the Zionist enemy against the displaced in Rafah, Gaza Strip, and as part of the expansion of military operations in the fourth phase of escalation and in response to the American-British aggression against our country.”
He affirmed that, “The Yemeni armed forces will continue to carry out military operations in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and to confront the American-British aggression against our country, which supports the Zionist Israeli enemy in its continued crimes and aggression against the Palestinian people. The support operations will not stop until the aggression ceases and the blockade on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.”

The spokesperson for the Sana’a government forces announced on Friday that they had targeted the American aircraft carrier “Eisenhower” in the Red Sea.
Since November of last year, the Sana’a government forces have been targeting Israeli ships and those linked to them in the Red and Arabian Seas, before extending their operations to parts of the Indian Ocean. Recently, they announced the beginning of the fourth phase of escalation against ships “even in the Mediterranean” to support Palestinians in Gaza. They stated that their operations against “Israel” would continue until Israel stops its genocide in Gaza and lifts the blockade.
In response, the US and Britain launched airstrikes on Yemen, prompting the Sana’a government forces to declare that their operations would include targeting American and British commercial and military ships in response to what they called the “American-British aggression.”
On February 19, 2024, the European Union announced the launch of a military operation named “Aspis,” led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States announced the launch of an operation named “Guardian of Prosperity,” both aiming to counter the attacks launched by the Sana’a forces against “Israel.”
