Officials from the local authorities of both the Sana’a and Aden governments met on Sunday at the last point of the Hoban Road as part of ongoing efforts to open the road from both sides.
The Qatari channel “Al Jazeera Mubasher” broadcast the meeting, which brought together the Deputy Director General of Public Works in the local authority of Taiz under the Sana’a government, Engineer Abduljalil Al-Hamiri, and the Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the Taiz authority under the Aden government, Afithan Al-Mashhri, on the opposite side of the Republican Palace. This marked the first meeting between officials from both sides regarding the roads on the ground.
Al Jazeera’s footage showed the moment the two parties met after arriving from both sides and meeting on the road after it was opened.
Both parties emphasized the continued work to remove all obstacles and debris from the road in preparation for its official opening from both sides to allow citizens to pass safely.
