The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that the CEO of Eilat Port, Gideon Golber, stated that operations at the port have come to a complete halt. This cessation is due to the inability of ships to pass in any direction to reach the port because of the operations conducted by the Sana’a government forces against Israeli navigation.
Golber added that a significant number of workers have been laid off, and he may have to lay off half of the remaining workforce. He noted that the losses have reached 50 million shekels, approximately 14 million dollars, and are expected to increase.
The port’s CEO sent a letter to the Israeli Minister of Transportation describing the situation at the port as extremely critical.
