Sana’a government forces announced today, Sunday, the downing of a U.S. drone in Saada and the targeting of a ship in the Gulf of Aden for “violating the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine.”
In a statement broadcast this evening, the spokesperson for Sana’a forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said: “With God’s help, the Yemeni Armed Forces’ air defense successfully shot down an American MQ-9 drone while it was conducting hostile activities in the airspace of Saada Governorate, using a locally-made surface-to-air missile.”
The statement added: “This is the seventh drone of its kind to be downed during the ‘Promised Conquest’ battle and the sacred jihad in support of Gaza.”
The statement continued: “As part of the fourth phase of escalation, related to the maritime operations area, the Yemeni Armed Forces’ naval and missile forces carried out a joint military operation targeting the ship ‘Groton’ in the Gulf of Aden with several ballistic missiles, and the strike was precise, thanks to God.”
Brigadier General Saree indicated that the targeting of the ship was due to the owning company’s violation of the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine.
The statement further read: “The Yemeni Armed Forces salute the valiant Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip for 300 days of steadfastness, heroism, and sacrifice in defense of the nation, its honor, and dignity, and in support of its sanctities.”
He affirmed that “the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue their military operations across various escalation stages, and these operations will only cease with the end of aggression and the lifting of the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
He explained that these operations are “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and its fighters, and in response to the American-British aggression on our country.”
It is worth noting that since November of last year, Sana’a forces have been conducting military operations against Israeli shipping as support operations for Gaza, which is facing aggression and genocide by the Zionist enemy.
In response, both the United States and Britain have been carrying out airstrikes on Yemen to deter Yemeni military operations against “Israel,” prompting Sana’a to announce that American and British commercial and military ships are now within their target range, and banning passage in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.
Additionally, the European Union announced the launch of a naval operation named “Aspides” against Sana’a forces, aimed at stopping their operations against Israeli shipping.
