Did “Israel” Succeed in Deterring the Houthis? A Hebrew Report Reveals the Harsh Truth

The Hebrew website “Mako,” affiliated with Israel’s Channel 12, reported that the Israeli attack on Al-Hudaydah Governorate did not stop the operations of Sana’a government forces supporting Gaza, nor did it halt their ongoing threats.
The website confirmed that the Houthis are still capable of disrupting maritime shipping routes to Israeli ports, causing economic damage estimated in the billions, which is considered a significant and severe failure for “Israel.”
In a report published this week titled “Did the Attack in Yemen Really Deter the Houthis?” the website revealed that the Israeli attack failed to stop the Houthis’ activities or threats.
The report noted that the Houthis, in addition to their readiness to support the Iranians in the event of an attack to challenge Israel’s multi-layered air defense system, are still capable of disrupting the shipping route to “Eilat.” This represents one of “Israel’s” greatest failures, as the country has previously engaged in wars based on threats to this vital route.
The report explained that the Houthis managed to achieve these successes using far less military power than “Israel” possesses, attributing their achievements to their strategies and decisions, not just their military capabilities.
The report pointed out that “Israel” seeks to portray the Houthis’ fighting in the Red Sea as maritime terrorism and a global threat to freedom of navigation, while the Houthis present their activities as support for the Palestinians in Gaza and the Lebanese resistance. This difference in perception has made it difficult for “Israel” to garner widespread international support, except for the backing of the Americans and a few member states of the maritime coalition against Yemen.
Additionally, the report noted that “Israel” cannot be satisfied with the situation at the port of “Eilat,” which has remained completely empty for several months due to the Houthis’ threats to shipping lines, causing significant economic damage worth billions.
The report concluded that “it is unclear how Israel intends to address these damages and the ongoing Houthi threat.”
