Sanaa government forces announced on Tuesday that they had downed another U.S. MQ-9 drone over the skies of Saada province. This marks the second drone shot down within 72 hours and the ninth of its kind since the start of operations in support of Gaza.

In a televised statement, the military spokesperson for Sanaa’s forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, stated, “Thanks to God, the Yemeni Armed Forces’ air defenses successfully shot down an American MQ-9 drone while it was conducting hostile espionage and combat operations over Saada province.”

Saree added, “This is the second drone of its type that we have downed within 72 hours, and the ninth since the beginning of the ‘Promised Liberation’ and the ‘Sacred Jihad’ in support of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.”

The spokesperson also praised the “heroic act” of martyr Maher Al-Jazi, who “chose to avenge the blood of Gaza’s martyrs in the appropriate manner,” referring to the recent shooting at the Karama crossing (known as the Allenby Bridge in Israel), which resulted in the death of three Israelis.

Saree continued, “The Yemeni Armed Forces call upon all the Arab and Islamic nations to fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duties towards the Palestinian people, who have been facing genocide for almost a year with the support of the U.S. and the UK.”

He concluded by emphasizing that “the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue their military operations until the aggression is stopped and the siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.”

Sanaa forces had previously announced on Saturday the downing of a U.S. MQ-9 drone over Marib province.
