Get to Know the Yemeni Hypersonic Missile That Struck Fear in “Tel Aviv” After Evading Israeli Defenses

NYN | Video

The military media of the Sana’a government forces released footage showing the launch of a hypersonic ballistic missile that targeted an Israeli military site in “Tel Aviv,” where Israeli air defenses failed to intercept it, allowing the missile to penetrate deep into Israeli territory.

In a video published by the military media on Monday evening, details were revealed about the missile, named “Palestine 2.” It is a hypersonic missile with a range of 2,150 kilometers, powered by two-stage solid fuel, and equipped with stealth technology.

The report indicated that the missile reaches a speed of Mach 16 and possesses high maneuverability, allowing it to evade even the most advanced air defense systems in the world, including the Iron Dome.

The footage aired by the military media showed the missile launching at a tremendous speed, with white smoke from the launch clearly indicating that it operates on solid fuel. The missile’s nose was adorned with the Palestinian keffiyeh, symbolizing the Palestinian cause.

Abdul Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi (Ansar Allah) movement, confirmed that the operation targeting “Tel Aviv” in the heart of occupied Palestine was carried out with a high-tech missile that evaded enemy systems and covered a distance of 2,040 kilometers in just 11 and a half minutes. He noted that the operation is part of the fifth phase of escalation against the Israeli occupation.

This announcement came after the Sana’a government forces carried out a unique military operation targeting a military site in the “Jaffa” area of occupied Palestine using a new hypersonic ballistic missile. The spokesperson for the Sana’a forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed the missile’s successful strike on its target and the failure of Israeli defenses to intercept it, as it covered a distance of approximately 2,040 kilometers in just 11 and a half minutes.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that the missile caused panic in “Tel Aviv,” with over two million people rushing to shelters. The Israeli ambulance service reported that nine people were injured during the rush to the shelters.

The Israeli military admitted that its air defenses had failed to intercept the missile and announced the opening of an investigation to determine the reasons for the delay in detecting the missile and the failure to intercept it.

This failure has raised serious questions and concerns within “Israel,” especially since advanced defense systems such as “Arrow 2” and “Arrow 3” were supposed to detect and intercept the missile before it reached “Tel Aviv.”

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth noted that the missile was discovered too late, heightening fears about the Israeli defense system’s ability to counter long-range threats.
