Taiz: Protesters at the Gates of Missing Aid

NYN | News

Anger escalated among needy families in the Mashra’a and Hudan districts of Taiz Governorate on Thursday, due to being denied humanitarian aid from relief organizations.

Local witnesses reported that the protesters staged a demonstration in front of one of the humanitarian aid distribution centers to denounce the decision by the World Food Program to suspend food aid, emphasizing that the halt in support has increased their daily suffering.

The protesters pointed out that living conditions in areas under the internationally recognized Yemeni government are under growing pressure, with continued irregularity in salary payments and rising prices, worsening the humanitarian situation and making access to basic necessities more difficult.

Families confirmed that the suspension of aid has created competition among beneficiaries to be included in distribution lists, heightening tensions and highlighting the severity of the humanitarian crisis in the governorate.
