Announcement of the Failure of Negotiations Between Sana’a and Riyadh

NYN | News

The Yemeni–Saudi negotiations are witnessing notable developments amid ongoing regional and international efforts to push the political process toward serious solutions.

An Omani political expert revealed new details related to this track on Sunday.

Omani analyst Ali Al-Ma’shani confirmed that the latest round of negotiations was thwarted by the Saudi side, explaining that Riyadh seeks to replicate the Gaza scenario through “truces and temporary agreements after every confrontation.”

Al-Ma’shani accused Saudi Arabia of evading a comprehensive agreement that aligns with international standards and constitutes clear commitments under international law and global legitimacy. He predicted that Yemen would be able to thwart the plans being drawn up against it.

This comes after the Sultanate of Oman witnessed increased regional and international activity in recent weeks to ease tensions and revive the path toward peace, following Sana’a’s warnings of a potential military option to restore the rights of its people and enforce a comprehensive peace settlement that Saudi Arabia continues to reject.
