Taiz: The Mystery of the Ongoing Sit-in

NYN | News

The Taiz Wounded Association issued a clarification regarding the continued sit-in in front of the governorate building on Jamal Street in the city center, following widespread conflicting reports on some media outlets and digital platforms claiming the protest had been lifted.

The association denied on Thursday the circulating news about ending the sit-in, stressing in a statement that “this information is completely false,” and affirming that the sit-in of Taiz’s wounded is still ongoing in front of the governorate building and will not be lifted until all legitimate demands are met and all rights fully restored by the Presidential Leadership Council supported by the coalition.

The association renewed its call on media outlets to exercise accuracy and credibility and to communicate with the concerned body before publishing any information related to the wounded’s cause.

It also praised the role of “free and responsible media,” expressing hope that all platforms will stand in support of the wounded’s cause rather than becoming a burden on it.

This statement comes as a clarification to a previous one in which the association announced lifting the sit-in in front of the Passport Authority building, without clarifying the continuation of the sit-in in front of the governorate building—a detail that caused confusion among many websites and platforms.
