Mysterious Earthquake Strikes Sana’a After a Night of U.S. Airstrikes

NYN | News

Unusual seismic activity continues in Yemen, raising questions about the nature of this new phenomenon.

Early this morning, seismological and volcanic monitoring stations in Dhamar Province recorded a mild earthquake in the Al-Hatarish area, northeast of the capital, Sana’a, just hours after a series of intense U.S. airstrikes.

In an official statement, the monitoring center reported that the earthquake occurred at 3:42 AM with a magnitude of 2.4 on the Richter scale, approximately 9 kilometers northeast of Sana’a. It classified the tremor as minor, confirming that no material damage or casualties were recorded.

This natural event follows a bloody night in which U.S. warplanes launched a massive assault targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian areas in Sana’a and several other provinces, resulting in a significant number of casualties.

The earthquake monitoring center continues to track the situation, while the capital, Sana’a, and other provinces remain under intense U.S. military escalation.
