International Appeal and Warning of Humanitarian Risks
In an official statement, the council said it is issuing an “urgent humanitarian appeal to the leaders of regional and international countries, the UN Security Council, and UN member states,” calling for a halt to the attacks it claims are being carried out “by the Muslim Brotherhood with Saudi support against southern Yemen.”
The statement added that the ongoing military escalation poses a “direct danger to civilians” in Hadramout, where violent clashes are taking place between Saudi-backed forces and STC-affiliated factions.
Military Escalation and Fall of Key Camps
This appeal comes in the wake of a noticeable Saudi escalation against UAE-aligned factions in Hadramout. Field sources reported the fall of several of the STC’s largest camps in the Wadi and Desert districts following airstrikes and ongoing battles.
Hadramout on a Volatile Edge
The recent escalation reflects the rising tension among coalition parties in Yemen, amid fears that the conflict could spread further and turn Hadramout into an open battlefield, with complex security and humanitarian consequences for the province’s residents.
